RECOVERY ... TRUST THE PROCESS
There is no single cause of
addiction. Rather, a complex set of
biological, social, genetic and
psychological interactions
contribute to the onset of
substances used and progression to
addiction. Because these causal
factors are unique to each
individual, patient-treatment
matching must be highly
individualized to be effective.
Prior to admission into any
Addiction Recovery Resources
program, a thorough bio-psychosocial
assessment is conducted to determine
the appropriate level of care for
each patient. After this evaluation,
patients are offered effective
treatment modalities, which might
include individual therapy,
intensive outpatient services,
residential treatment, ambulatory
detoxification, and/or referral for
inpatient detoxification.
Upon admission, comprehensive
assessment by clinical staff
continues. This process includes a
psychiatric/addiction medicine
evaluation by the Medical Director
and an Addiction Severity Index and
Intake Interview assessment by a
masters’ level therapist.
Individualized treatment plans are
created from these assessments and
updated weekly by the entire
multidisciplinary staff.
Effectiveness of treatment is
monitored by comparing Addiction
Severity Index scores upon admission
and at quarterly intervals for two
years thereafter.
Treatment at Addiction Recovery
Resources is eclectic and
holistically focused. Our primary
goal is to renew and improve the
addicted person’s relationship with
self, family, support systems, and
society.
Families are encouraged and expected
to participate in the treatment
process. A strong family systems
component emphasizes education about
the repetitive, self-defeating
family dynamics. The purpose is to
help the family find a new level of
health and healthier ways to show
love.
Group, family, and individual
therapy, integration into 12-Step
recovery support, and relapse
prevention education are
incorporated into all levels of
treatment.
Addiction is a treatable disease.
